Benchmarking and validation

We have ample experience in network benchmarking, validation and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to GSM, UMTS, 802.11p and LTE networks. We are one of the few companies with actual experience in validating GSM-R networks at high velocities. Our drive test team uses bespoke RF QoS test equipment to measure GSM-R Quality of Service (QoS) with specially prepared trains. Apart from network scans and benchmarks, we can do base station audits and perform Quality of Service and Continuous Wave (CW) measurements, all with state of the art equipment. We will present you with clear, concise and comprehensive reports and analyses related to the end-to-end quality of voice, data (CSD & PS), video and messaging services.

Tender assistance and network design

A crucial step in the design of any GSM-R network is the translation of requirements to technical specifications. This is one more area where Clear CinCom can be of assistance to you. Our network design specialists can help you with propagation model tuning, nominal network design, site surveys, cell planning, frequency planning, parameter planning and so on.

Network optimization

A proper network optimization often makes a dramatic difference in the performance of a RF-based network. The expertise of the Clear CinCom telecom engineers allows them to greatly improve performance from many existing installations, often with only minimal hardware or software changes. Improvements can often be achieved by optimizing the BSS-parameters of the Base Station Controller (BSC). Sometimes hardware changes, such as re-azimuths, tilts, selecting better site positions or installing repeaters are needed to bring significant enhancements. Our clear and concise optimization reports will present an overview of the changes that would deliver the greatest improvements in your specific situation, so that you have all the information you need to make informed decisions.

The people of Clear CinCom have been designing and optimizing GSM-R networks since the emergence of the standard in 2000; we have helped network vendors and railway operators in numerous countries since to meet and exceed the performance standards of GSM-R. Specialized in GSM-R and gearing up for the future, Clear CinCom is at the forefront of the emerging Future Railway Mobile Communication system (FRMCS).

LTE: the fourth generation

LTE, often marketed as 4G, is the most recent standard for wireless cellular communication. New modulation techniques allow existing networks (be it GSM/UMTS or CDMA) to be upgraded to LTE, increasing the speed with which data is delivered to mobile devices. LTE is the first truly global standard for mobile network communication, allowing download speeds up to 299.6 Mbit/second.
